Your homework for the weekend is to rewrite your goal (if necessary). Remember, you will be tracking your progress for the next few weeks and must have a specific plan of action toward reaching your goal.
Goal Setting Tips:
Long term goal- The result you are working to achieve. You must be able to achieve this goal by February 1st, 2009. It must be reasonable, and must be within your power to achieve it through your own actions. The goal must be specific and measurable.
Example: I will achieve an average of 90 or above in each of my classes.
Short Term goals- Choose three things you can do on a daily basis to reach your goal. These goals must also be specific and measurable.
Examples: To reach a goal of 90 or above, I will need to
1) Do homework on a daily basis
2) Score 90 or higher on all tests
3) Attend classes daily, and on time
Process goals: These are the actions you will take in order to reach your goals. They will most likely be actions that you are not currently doing (if you were, you would have reached your goal already). You should think about behaviors you need to change or things you need to do more effectively that will result in you achieving your goals.
Examples:
1) Set aside 2 hours each day for homework and other assignments
2) Review notes for 30 minutes every day
3) Get up earlier so I can get to class on time to class
4) Do not walk my friends to class so I can get to class on time
5) Turn off my phone while studying so I don't get distracted
I have given you stickie notes to put around your house as reminders to work toward your goal.
If you reach your goal you will recieve an extra credit test grade of 100% in my class.
Good luck!! Work hard!!
